Most people don't think about life insurance until they are older. What they don't think about is the older you get the most expensive the policy becomes. It is best to start a whole life policy right when you turn 18.
You need life insurance to pay for your funeral cost, pay any debts you may have and leave some money behind to help your family get back on their feet after we pass. This way they are not left with the burden of paying all these expenses on there on dime.
So, how much coverage do you need? That is a question you have to ask yourself. Do you have any debt/loans and how much? How much will the funeral cost? How much will my children's college tuition be? How much do I want to leave behind as a gift? Add these up and round up to the nearest $10,000 to be safe to figure out the actual limit you need on life insurance.
