Ghost Walks - Starting at the Franklin Street Coffee House throughout October, Ghost Walks provide opportunity to get into the Halloween spirit on a leisurely two-mile MetroRail ride and stroll featuring urban legends and true tales of deceased Houstonians.

Houston Children’s Festival - A full day of fun, the Houston Children’s Festival serves as an all day children’s fest and benefits Child Advocates Inc. Admission is extremely affordable, and food, drink and rides are plentiful. Disney Channel guest stars, Popular cartoon characters and a $5000 scholarship treasure hunt are just some of the festival’s features. Six stages with live performances and tons of educational games and booths are set up for kids to learn and have a blast.

Houston International Festival - It's all about celebrating diversity and learning about different cultures. It's all about making our children, the future generation, global citizens.

Houston Hot Sauce Festival - The Deadliest Batch of some the hottest products from around the globe are found at the annual Hot Sauce Festival in Houston, Texas. The sauce is so hot that it will make you cry like a baby. Do you have what it takes? We think so!

Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo - Big Fun for a Big Show! This events features multiple concerts, rodeos, livestock and horse shows, as well as plenty of other events, and activities to bring out the cowboy or cowgirl in everyone!

Houston Tidelanders Barbershop Show - For men’s a cappella barbershop harmony, the Houston Tidelanders presents Tidelander Reality, an annual show with an 80-plus voice chorus, props and costumes.

International Quilt Festival - In late October or early November, more than 2,000 quilts and pieces of fabric art, original cloth dolls, and other textile arts are displayed at George R. Brown Convention Center in the world's largest quilt show.

Kid's Market Day - Towards the end of March, Urban Harvest offers kids a look at where food really comes from, participants in school and youth gardening programs bring their produce to sell, and a variety of entertaining programs, food tasting, cooking demonstrations and live entertainment will be featured, at the Bayou City Farmers Market behind 3000 Richmond between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway.

Origami Festival at Tansu - Tansu in the Houston Heights stages an Origami Festival with exhibits, hands-on workshops, and free demonstrations.

River Oaks Garden Club Azalea Trail - The Azalea Trail offers Houstonians an enjoyable weekend that educates the public about architecture, flower arranging and horticultural possibilities in our region. The proceeds from this event are given back to the community to be applied to specific projects dealing with education, conservation and civic beautification.

Texas Renaissance Festival - The Texas Renaissance Festival is one of the nation's largest, most acclaimed Renaissance theme parks where the sights, sounds, tastes, and beauties of the 16th century come alive every Saturday and Sunday from October to November.

Traders Villiage Annual Bluegrass Festival - Known nationally as America's largest weekend flea marketplace, the original Traders Village opened in Grand Prairie in 1973. Houston's Traders Village followed in 1989 bringing terrific values and entertainment to the Texas Gulf Coast. Today the combined markets host more than 5,500,000 shoppers and festival-goers each year. From trinkets and trash, to treasures and trends, like they say, "if you can't find it at Traders Village, you didn't need it in the first place!"

Trot Your Turkey Off - Immediately after Thanksgiving, the Health Museum hosts a special interactive walking tour where you can explore the body and count the calories you have burned along the way.

Wings Over Houston - Wings Over Houston Airshow is one of the top five airshows in the US, featuring civilian, modern military, and vintage warbird demos.

Worldfest Houston International Film Festival - As the third largest Film Festival in the United States, the Worldfest Houston International Film Festival aims to honor and promote cultural tourism and brilliant talent n Houston. The festival features more than 50 feature films (over 4500 are entered) and places full emphasis on American and International films. Categories include student film, documentary, television commercials, music videos and much more. Each year the festival honors a different country.
