Monday, December 5, 2011A new insurance commissioner has allowed State Farm to charge higher rates and deductibles in Texas. State Farm Insurance on Dec. 1 was authorized to switch many of its 1.2 million homeowner policies to a higher deductible. Monday, November 29, 2010 Farmers Insurance has filed for a 3.9 percent rate increase for homeowners policies in Texas. The Dallas Morning News reports that Farmers' filing with the Texas Department of Insurance will affect about half the company's customers in Texas.
